The IoT Design Shop hosts some of the hardest working 3D printers on the planet. We print all the time, building form factor prototypes, tools, jigs, and experiments of all shapes and sizes. We have both SLA and FDM printers, providing for a wide variety of material types, shapes, sizes, and features of prints.
Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) Printers
Currently, we have 9 FDM printers in our inventory, including:
- 4 x FlashForge Creator/X
- Ultimaker 2
- Ultimaker 3
- Makerbot 2x
- 2 x Lulzbot TAZ 5
We utilize our FDM machines to print in a variety of materials including PLA, ABS, CPA, TPU, PET, and Nylon. Our largest machines, the Lulzbot TAZ 5’s are able to print approximately 1 cubic foot print volumes.
Stereolithography (SLA) Printers
We have two Form Labs printers in our inventory:
- Form 1+
- Form 2
The SLA printers have smaller print areas, but impeccable resolution and reproduction of even the smallest details. They are well suited to producing functional mechanical parts, and we stock a wide variety of resins for the machines ranging from basic to exotics like high temperature resins that are usable for injection moulding processes.
